The Identity Profile
Document, 2006-9, Part of the Impostor series + Living Documents installation
Using the guise of a market research company called Demara Canada, I launched an online survey that gathered data regarding my physical, social, subjective and political self. Essentially I was trying to map, what Pierre Bourdieu would call, my habitus. Seventy-seven of my friends, family members, co-workers, acquaintances and ex-girlfriends took part in the survey giving me significant data to from an Identity Profile.
The predominantly quantitative data was synthesized and packaged as a marketing report using visual aids such as pie charts, line graphs, and lists.
This project has exhibited as part of the installation entitled Living Documents.
