For the latest iteration of the Living Documents installation at Eyelevel Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I hired artist David Dahms to act as a gentleman usher for the opening reception. He greeted each visitor as they entered the gallery asking them their name and what they do. He then pulled back the curtain to grant them access to the exhibition while simultaneously turning on a spot light that blasted the visitor and then announced their name and title through a mic and amplifier.
